Speaker 1:

I would never want to take that away. I just want to make sure that we're ahead of the ball when it comes to AI and education. Now you just brought up David Jolly and Bobby Williams, one of your former opponents ran as a God first for governor and then lost pretty miserably and then immediately picks the other opponent. Some call Rhino, what would you say and what is your opinion of what Bobby Williams did?

Speaker 2:

Honestly, I'm not thinking about it. I'm focused on voters, man. I'm focused on voters. That's what we're doing. And by the way, I'll tell you, we have a lot of Black Democrat officials, Black Democrat voters who are coming to our campaign and saying, you know what, we're going to be with you in this campaign. And I've not changed my policies or my positions. You know, I'm very conservative. Southwest Florida knows that. You know, I can't speak for him. I don't what was going on over there. We're focused on the people of Florida. We're now, I think, 48 days to go or 47 days to go to election day. People need to get out and vote. Listen, Jason, this is important. We have so many people in Southwest Florida, across Florida. They have chosen our state. They left New York, they left Illinois, they left California in these crazy blue states, and they left because of common sense conservative policy. Why would we turn our state over to the same type of leadership from the Democrats and and now these Democrat socialists that messed up those states that people left. We are here to make sure we build the Florida way of life and defend the Florida dream. I'm asking for their vote.

Speaker 1:

other than your opponent who's the most dangerous socialist out there right now that we need to be watching after in your opinion I mean you're in Congress you see it every day

Speaker 2:

Oh, the most dangerous? I mean, honestly, they're all crazy. It's like a hive mind of crazy, Jason. It's a hive mind of crazy. That's why they got to be defeated across the board. You could say L. Syed, yep, he's pretty crazy. AOC, we already know. Bernie Sanders is old man crazy. But then you have Angie. And then you have, I mean, their ideas are all nuts, but they all have the same ideas, which is the problem. There's no independent thought in that party. Same ideas, nonstop. And then you have the candidates like David, who try to act like he has different ideas, but his own, his own property insurance plan, that's a government takeover of insurance. It will have, it will slap a hurricane tax on every Floridian, whether you're on the coast in Southwest Florida, whether you're inland in Hendry County or Okeechobee County, whether you're in a northern part of our state, like Levy County and Putnam County, everybody's going to get hit with a hurricane tax because his big grand idea is just big old take over by government, and that never works.

Speaker 1:

The sheriffs are out front talking about calling Amendment 3 too good to be true. There's a whole campaign ad of sheriffs and I know if not every sheriff has supported you to be the next governor of Florida. How do you track both? How do you do that? How do you support the elimination of property taxes at the same time let law enforcement know that they're not going to be hurting?

Speaker 2:

Well, first of all, the amendment doesn't eliminate homestead property taxes. It raises the homestead exemption. That's one. Two, I understand what sheriffs were thinking about. They want to make sure that their budgets are intact. The state of Florida, we want to make sure their budgets are intact as well because law enforcement is critical to the future of our state. It's been critical to the success of our state. That's number two. Number three, yeah, we have a disagreement on this. I just think that people need relief, and I think we have to find ways to cut costs any way we can, raising the homestead exemption, especially on seniors with fixed income and working families, because that's who's primarily targeted here. I think they need relief and the amendment provides that. So I'm gonna be voting yes. But like I've said throughout the entire campaign, whether the amendment passes or fails, we're gonna bring this back. And I've had that conversation with sheriffs, they agree that we need to continue to work on this because people need relief while making sure our sheriff deputies and our firefighters that they get the resources they need to keep our community safe.

Speaker 1:

As you get closer to possibly getting elected or being elected, let me go ahead and say that, being elected governor of Florida Byron, a Broward judge out there threw out a camera ticket for those red speed cameras. They said it puts the burden of proof onto the the actual driver and not onto the state. That's why they have an appeals court looking at it. A flock is going to be real big in your first session and it's going to be a thing that What's your approach to these automatic license plate readers that are out there and right now the battle going on across Florida?

Speaker 2:

Well, first, I don't like these cameras. I never really have. Two, we're gonna protect the Fourth Amendment. The Fourth Amendment is not up for debate. I'm gonna protect Fourth Amendment rights for Floridians, like we protect the Second Amendment and the First Amendment. But number three overall is there has to be real stiff criminal penalties for people who abuse these systems because you can't just have a camera out there that just takes information from everywhere and just have no real internal controls. And so we're gonna make sure those internal controls are there. I've never been a fan of these cameras. This ticket deal in Broward, I'm not aware of that judges -ish order, so I have to go look at that one.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they're they're saying that it's unconstitutional because it puts the burden of proof onto the driver and

Speaker 2:

That's that sounds that generally sounds right, but I want to look at this look at it more deep

Speaker 1:

We'll talk next Thursday about it, sound good?

Speaker 2:

Sounds good.

Speaker 1:

Congressman Byron Donalds, thank you so much. He is running for governor of Florida and we're less than 50 days away here on 92 .5 Fox News. More to come next.
|

Speaker 1:

That was the re -election of our favorite president, Donald Trump, because the early vote, early voting is important. People who tell you not to vote early are either fake MAGA, rhinos or never Trumpers or just Democrats pretending to be conservative and being your friend and they're not. You know, if you don't vote early and we wait until election day, the Democrats, if they're ahead, we've got to catch up by millions of votes and surpass that all in one day. No, you want to vote early. I've been voting early the last couple elections. I voted early for Byron Donald's and I voted early for President Trump in the last presidential election and I will be voting early in the midterms as well All right So whether or not we win or lose I'm predicting a victory if we swamp them at the polls Because most people are on our side now I've got some new information here and I am going to talk about gas prices in a bit But there's been very little coverage about the midterm Republican convention last week. Well, look at this. President Trump broke a huge record. First ever midterm RNC garnered over 100 million
|

Speaker 1:

Charlie Crist and the Democrats nominated Charlie Crist, the ex -Republican, who was like, you know, depending on the day and the breeze, far right, far left, whatever the hell he is. the democrats have nominated david jolly to run and again this is another former republican who was like against obama care wanted to defund Planned Parenthood and more and now is complete opposite with everything that he used to stand for angie nixon is the woman who took a bullhorn on the state house floor and screamed at everyone Did a sit -in got arrested and She now is out and about Saying like I'm bringing all these far -left policies to Florida But what she interweaves in all of that is affordability now We'll get to in next segment We'll talk a little bit about how Byron Donalds and David Jolly what they're battling with with affordability messaging now I know and I think that many of you know that like leftist policies don't bring affordability now we could sit here and I could without a doubt be very critical of President Trump and Iran and this friggin mess that we're in right now where diesel's at and more absolutely I'm an equal opportunity shot -taker but as we focus in on Angie Nixon here's what I'm getting at This this woman is Like a no holds barred Leftist she won't use the word socialist even though she's actual member of the dsa and I think it's going to be really interesting to see how the electorate breaks down And will they do the same for david jolly as they did for charlie christ which which means absolutely nothing like how dare you? Give us another candidate that is It has no No moral compass no philosophy No, he there's no legislation that he stands for that he wasn't against only a few years ago Is angi nixon going to actually Stir up that base And turn out the vote by being
|

Speaker 1:

Do I want somebody like David Jolly become the governor? No! But is there a possibility that could happen? By the way, did you, there was a poll that somebody did. I kind of look at the polls a little bit differently than some people do. They actually had Nixon and Moody tied. Listen, I don't think Angie Nixon is going to come close to winning this race, nor should she. Moody should win this thing easily. But now I think the Byron and the David Jolly race will tighten up. That one I do believe out there as well. Hey Ed, listening to you this morning on the way to work. Will you be also focusing on some of the local option things coming on the ballot like raising or maintaining the tax for schools? Oh yeah, we've covered it on this show. We're gonna cover it over the next couple of weeks. Will they want you to maintain the tax rate? I think it's the property taxes, is it? For the schools for quote, more teacher pay. I'm not voting.
|

She's tied with this corrupt, like, former AG, right? Ashley, what is her name? Ashley Moody. And Republicans hold an advantage of more than one and a half million registered voters over Democrats in Florida. So something is happening. Your favorite biscuit maker, Byron Donalds, also in a statistical tie with David Jolly. So interesting. interesting. Come on now y 'all. Yeah. David Jolliver, come on.

Speaker 2:

You know, she is speaking truth to insanity, and you can't outspend.
|

Speaker 1:

a lot of us were kind of looking forward to. But and that's a debate between the gubernatorial candidates for the state of Florida. You know, these guys, both of them, I say both of them, that's I mean, you're only, we're going to get a Democrat or Republican, one of the two, you know, the drill, and they're gonna have to follow Ron DeSantis. And David Jolly, a former Republican congressman, now running as a Democrat. He cited Byron Donald's reported lies and bad faith in declining debates. Now, understand what I just read. He said that Byron Donald's lies and has bad faith, and that's why he declined doing a debate. I would have to think that that would be exactly the that you would want to have a debate, wouldn't it be? I would think, but it's easy to sit outside and be accusatory, but I'm not here to judge. I'm just making a note that he turned down the debate, and he was saying, I'm gonna do it 12 times, I'll do 12 debates, and of course now, first one, first rattle out of the box, he turned it down. Byron Donalds hit back, and he's dodging tough questions you know the rhetoric but there was supposed to be a debate like he wants to talk I would like to hear the idea of a hurricane tax for a thousand bucks on Floridians that's interesting or his political shift to to the left he didn't only changed political parties he
|
