Jacksonville Jaguars - Sample Report Talk 10/08/2026 KDUS-AM Phoenix (Prescott) 13:47 MDT Click for Audio / Transcript
Speaker 1:

kind of just cements them as one of the best teams in the AFC. I have them at number four.

Speaker 2:

Number three, this is where I have the Jacksonville Jaguars. They're slowly becoming a team that if Kansas City slips, so I have higher spoiler alert, they could be viewed as the best team in the AFC. I mean, they are doing it on both sides of the ball. The defense has been really good. Trevor Lawrence, perhaps looking the best he's been in his career. They've got a bunch of weapons on offense that they can get involved. So it's not just one guy making that whole thing flow. so really impressed with the way Jacksonville has played so far this season and their one blemish is against a decent Denver team it's not like they had a stinker against you know the Chargers or something or against the Cardinals or against like a bad team the Dolphins right so pretty impressed with what they've done so far I have them in number three

Speaker 1:

Yup, for me no -

Actually a good game on paper for it to be a London game too.

Speaker 2:

true true um yeah i can't watch philadelphia that's my stance on the show for a while but that'd probably be a close game jacksonville should win you're right there

Jacksonville Jaguars - Sample Report Talk 10/08/2026 WHB-AM Kansas City 17:39 CDT Click for Audio / Transcript
Speaker 1:

They just make it easy. Mike, let's talk a little bit about the Jacksonville Jaguars. We mentioned them earlier. They're getting a lot of buzz, a lot of hype. There are a lot of people trying to say that they're the best team in the AFC. Are you one of those people?

Speaker 2:

I'm walking alongside of it. You know, I'm not jumping on it yet, but I think that they've been a real, I think they've been a good team without a real weakness. The first, uh, four weeks of the season, I think they, they run the ball well. They, they, Trevor Lawrence has been better. That's documented and watching them play. And I wrote about that in my pick six column, the two talking to a coach who thought he had made it look a lot better than he had in the past. So he still has to do it the whole year. And I think defensively they've been good, but I just don't see a thing that is a huge concern for me. Now they're going to play, you know, they've got a bunch of games.

And with the schedule that I just mentioned, we'll be able to justify certain wins based on the opponent. If you beat the Jacksonville Jaguars with the way that they've been playing, that's a statement win.

Speaker 2:

But they already told you that they're not really contenders though because they traded one of their best offensive linemen for picks

Speaker 3:

I don't know that that's where we all disagree on this, I think. And maybe I'm just seeing it through too much of the patriot lens. I've seen

Jacksonville Jaguars - Sample Report Talk 10/09/2026 WCNN-AM Atlanta 08:33 EDT Click for Audio / Transcript
Speaker 1:

I think it was two of 13 or something. It was not pretty two tip passes get intercepted in that game one to end it By Anzaloni. So there it is. All right early football on Sunday as the fit of the Eagles are in the struggle bus as well Take on the Jacksonville Jaguars whose second home is in London That's where they will be playing Jacksonville seven and a half point favorite. You got a feeler on this game I got a tough time taking anybody favored by seven and a half over the Eagles You're asking I know that hurt and beat up whatever I say go the other way Blaine Johnson retires.

John, your thoughts on this game, Eagles, and obviously a very improved Jacksonville Jags team. It's in London. It's in two days. What are you thinking?

Speaker 2:

Don't know if you took a gander at the injury report. Oh, I did It's real bad. It's real bad. And you know what, the Jags have a lot of injuries too, but when I look at this list with Saquon, Zach Bond, Marquise Brown, Jahad Campbell, Marcus Epps, Dallas Goddard, Jonathan Grenard, Fred Johnson, Drew Kendall! Hold on, Drew Kendall? He's on the What? He didn't practice?

Speaker 1:

Not all of you.

Speaker 2:

day. He didn't practice this week. I didn't know about that part. Quinian Mitchell feels like he's better than expected because he was able to get out there and practice. Devontae Smith did not practice again. John Tavian Wicks, that's surprising.

Speaker 1:

I saw that one too, John.

Speaker 2:

It just keeps getting worse, doesn't it? It's like a contagion that's spreading throughout this team. It's really rough. Look, you gotta push through a lot of things. There are times where it feels like when things get really bad, guys push through less. And I'm not saying we're to that point yet, but this is the fifth game and the, What you're what I've heard is that there's a somber Paul over that note But not even call where'd you hear that facility? I don't know just reports Maybe it was on NFL live yesterday

Speaker 1:

Maybe it was the tenor of conversation. Sombor.

Speaker 2:

Well, no. I mean, that certainly contributes. That strikes home for me. The way we feel is sort of being echoed within that building. The guys are, you know, guys are hugging each other at lockers, you know, consoling one another with the departure of lane. And that does affect your mindset and the way you get ready. I look at where we are in terms of injuries and mindset, and then I look at where the Jacksonville Jaguars are, they got in Liam Cohn, their head coach, exactly what we hoped to get in Nick Sirianni. A young, really sharp offensive mind who's way ahead of the game, Colin plays, encouraging his guys setting a tempo.

Jacksonville Jaguars - Sample Report Talk 10/09/2026 WPEN-FM Philadelphia 10:49 EDT Click for Audio / Transcript
Speaker 1:

it's the reality of where we're at. But can I ask you, who scares you? What scares you the most about the Jacksonville Jaguars?

Speaker 2:

Well, you know, I think I've watched maybe one of their games. It's just, it's just, I mean, they don't make many mistakes. They're moving the ball, they're putting up points, their defense isn't bad. But more than that, it's not that we're bad, it's just we are just unfortunate.

I'm also on Will Shipley over on his 13 and a half receiving yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars This is just kind of a consistent theme for me. I like going up against the Jaguars, defending running backs, catching the ball out of the backfield. They're great against the run, that's what they do, but because of that, dump offs out of the backfield become all that much important for the opposing offense. So I think this is the spot where Shipley, working as the de facto number one, is going to catch the ball plenty from J.
